Top Internet Home Business Website for Sale
I’m flipping a website for a friend of mine because she doesn’t have any experience with site flipping and wants to make sure it’s done correctly, so she asked if I would help her out. I was more than happy to do so. The site is very well established and has all the groundwork lain to become highly profitable and successful. It’s in the internet home business niche and already has high rankings for many keyword phrases related to the niche on Google, Bing, and Yahoo.
It has already aged 2.5 years, has a PR3, around 19,000 backlinks, monthly earnings of about $250 or more, decent traffic, high rankings for several competitive keyword phrases, over 300 subscribers, hundreds of pages of content… And so much more! This is definitely a website that could be taken to the top of the search engines and be making a lot of money with not a lot of effort from the new owner.
Doing all of the above on your own from scratch is going to take a lot of time and effort that you could be using on something else. You’re much better off buying this site and having all of the hard work already done for you right now.
The decision to sell her internet home business website was not taken lightly or made easily. She spent a lot of time and hard work building this site up for the past two and half years, and doesn’t want to see it go to waste.
I used the formula I always use for flipping websites and blogs when coming up with a reasonable value for this site. I am very confident that it is being sold at a fair price for both the buyer and the seller.
Anyway, here is the auction link for you to get more information and place a bid: http://flippa.com/users/55403
This site flip is a great deal for someone looking to start a new internet home business or expand an existing one. Snatch it up while you have the opportunity!
A $60,000 Site Flip
My good friend Jeff Casmer just flipped his popular work at home website 24hourwealth.com for a whopping $60,000 yesterday. Not a bad pay day if you ask me!
It looks like he got the upper hand on me as my biggest site flip to date was for $48,000 earlier this year. His site is actually overall quite similar to that one I sold when you look at the niches, rankings, traffic, and income they both have. But I did give him some tips to help him sell his so maybe I can take a tiny bit of credit for it? I guess we’ll see if he comments on this and agrees or not.
Anyway, this is just one more great example of how lucrative site flipping can be. If you add our two site flips together it comes out to $108,000 profit between them. You can definitely make money flipping websites!
How to Export and Import a WordPress Database After Sale
Ok, so you just did a blog flip and it happened to be a WordPress blog that you sold (or bought). You’re feeling great but now you are wondering how to you export the database so the new owner can import it to their web host? Or maybe you said you will import it for them but aren’t exactly sure how? Or you may have just bought a blog and now you need to know how to import the WordPress database? No matter what situation you are in I am going to teach you how to do it in this post.
I know, first you had to learn all about flipping blogs and now you have to learn how to export and import WordPress databases. It’s torture, right?! Actually it’s not very difficult if you just follow the steps below.
For these steps I am assuming that your webhost is using cPanel. If not, I recommend you get HostGator because it’s amazing in so many ways!
Let’s start with the Export from your end…
1. Login to cPanel.
2. Find “phpMyAdmin” and click on it.
3. Select the WordPress database of the blog you want to export.
4. Click the “export” tab.
5. Under the “Structure” pane put a check next to “add DROP TABLE” and “add AUTO_INCREMENT value” and “Enclose table and field names with backquotes”
6. Find the “DATA” section and make sure the box next to it is checked. Leave the other sections as they are.
7. In the “Export” pane on the left side there is a box containing all the tables selected for backup. Make sure they are all selected. Also just be sure that the button next to “SQL” is ticked.
8. Mark “Save as file” and pick a compression type. I usually choose “zipped” but I am not sure it matters.
9. Click “Go” and wait. It’s usually pretty quick but might take a few minutes. You might also have to choose where to save it and your desktop will be the easiest to find it.
That’s all there is to it. Your database will be exported and ready to be imported into the new host. It might seem difficult when you are just reading the steps but once you are actually doing it you will find it to be easy.
Now, how to import the database into the new host…
1. Login to your cPanel.
2. Go into mySQL Wizard and create a new database.
3. Add a new user onto the new database with all privileges.
4. Go into phpMyAdmin and click the “import” tab to import the database export into the new database you created.
5. Open up the wp-config.php which is in the root directory.
6. Edit the database name, database user, and database password to reflect the new changes you have made.
7. The blog should be working fine after you switch the nameservers of the domain to point to the new webhost.
You can use this as a reference if you are exporting or importing a WordPress database for yourself or for someone you just sold a blog to. You could also just send the new owner here so they can learn how to do it themselves.
Making Money with a Blog
Blogging has become a popular and highly effective way to make money online and provide information to people on a subject that you are passionate about discussing. Starting a blog is a fairly easy process; however, making money from a blog takes some planning, patience, and hard work.
The first thing needed to start a profitable blog is a good subject matter, also known as a good niche. Blogs that do not have a single theme tend to fail because they do not often attract a loyal following of like-minded individuals or high search engine rankings for various keywords within a niche. The best subject matter to start a blog with is something you are experienced with and have some knowledge about. Everyone has a talent so it shouldn’t be too difficult to find a blog topic. The blog subject can be a hobby, something you love to do, or even something you are learning about currently. For example, a new mom could write about her experiences learning how to be a parent.
One you have your subject then you need to find a good blog host. For beginners a free blog may be the best way to go. Two that are easy to use and start with are blogger.com and wordpress.com although I prefer blogger because it’s run by Google, super easy to use, can be easily dropped if your niche doesn’t work out, and many internet marketers like to use it.
Once you are set up with a blog provider and you have your niche picked, it is time to start writing. For an popular blog, it is recommend that you post a minimum of three times a week, but the most important thing you can do is build lots of inbound links to the blog to increase rankings, traffic and earnings.
Now, if the content is flowing and you are starting to get a good following, it is time to monetize your blog. Making money blogging entails a variety of things. The three most popular revenue streams are adsense, affiliate marketing, and selling advertising.
Affiliate links are a form of advertising within your blog. This is done in two ways, through a banner ad or direct links from words in the text of your blog. Adsense is a Google advertising product that is code inserted into your blog allowing Google to link websites into your blog based upon the content and theme of the blog. Clickbank and Commission Junction are two of the most popular affiliate companies on the web today. Their client lists include many popular retailers.
Making money blogging is easy in terms of the technology used and income streams available. Anyone who feels comfortable in front of a computer writing about a certain topic should have no problem developing a good blog. The keys to making money blogging are picking a profitable niche, providing quality content, and building enough backlinks to get high search engine rankings.
Put it all together an you will have yourself a profitable blog. You can then collect the money monthly or flip your blog for a large one time profit.
I Made $48,000 In Two Days Flipping a Website!
Earlier this year I sold a website on Sitepoint (flippa) and the listing was only up for 2 days before I got the “Buy It Now” bid of $48,000 – which ended the auction and sold the site!
In addition to that I received a private bid of $60,000 for the same site from a very well known and respected internet marketing guru. However, I had already started the transaction with the original buyer and I am not someone who backs out on a deal just because I can get more money from someone else.
Okay, so I admit the subject of this post is a little misleading because it took me a lot longer than two days to build up that site to the point of being worth that much money. However, it shows that you can make a lot of money selling websites.
Take the time and put in the effort to build a website or blog up to the point where it is getting good traffic on autopilot and consistently bringing in a solid monthly income. If you are willing to do that, you can sell it for THOUSANDS of dollars.
Most people say they would never sell a site that they had built up to the point of getting great traffic and consistently high earnings. I used to say the same thing. However, that nice lump sum of money is great for funding new projects, buying more sites, paying off debts, taking vacations, or whatever else you want to do with it.
There’s no doubt that you can make money flipping blogs & websites so if you are looking for an extra income stream, this is a great way to do it. What could you do with an extra $48,000 or more right now? Think about it!
