The popular “blogging tips” website (blog) http://www.bloggingtips.com was just sold for $60,000 on Flippa. Another excellent example of how much money you can make flipping blogs and websites.
According to the seller this blogs net monthly profit is only $1100 — so that means he flipped this blog for over 54 times the monthly profit! That’s absolutely incredible!
Typically an established blog or static website with stats comparative to BloggingTips.com would sell for maybe around 24 times its monthly profits. He more than doubled that number.
Of course, this is a case of blog flipping where the site was built up for a long time before it was sold. But that’s still a lot of money to be deposited into your bank account in one lump sum! You could spend your time building up a few established sites per year with the intent of making money flipping them, and you could easily earn a 6 figure income doing it.

Site flipping is still a very good way to make money online. The market is still strong even in these tough times. It might not quite be as strong as it once was but it hasn’t gone anywhere, and won’t be any time soon. There’s still a lot of opportunity for you to make money online flipping websites and blogs!

Hi. I recently read how some guy was getting up to 5 x more flipping his sites by promoting them offline.
I have not tried it myself but I have to admit that it does make sense.
I am planning to start up some sort of website for sale site soon and plan to add normal offline businesses for sale.
I suspect that the combination would help sell a lot more websites.
Time will tell huh?

This is spot on and something I advocate in web flipping…flip a blog! If your blog is objective, in a good niche, good traffic there is a lot of value to it. Especially in light of what wordpress has to offer in terms of plug-ins and other soft ware. With wordpress a blog does not even have to look like a blog.
Blog is the best way someone who does not have web skills can make and sell a site.
Lets not forget that while profit is the most important element to valuing a site that there are lots of other factors which can also come into play. For example a subscriber base or mailing list, good search engine rankings, an aged domain, DMOZ or Yahoo listings and so on. So while monthly income is the biggest factor, it’s not the only one. This may help to explain the large multiplier on this site flip.
Excellent article. It would be interesting to know the various contingencies that regulate this market. Is there any consideration for partial sales such that the seller maintains, a small equity?
